Objectives of the position:
The Development Director is responsible for the planning/hosting/running of all events; design all marketing materials (including social media/website pages), take care of all donor relations; speaking engagements; dinners; group tours.
Reports to: PHC Director
Qualifications:
- Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
- Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position
- Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith and policies of the Center
- Exhibit strong skills in interpersonal and written communication and public speaking
- Have a good knowledge of MS Windows operating system, MS Word, Outlook, and Excel, with the ability to learn computer programs affiliated with event planning and marketing (i.e. Canva, Mailchimp)
- Exhibit excellent organizational skills
Have experience as a volunteer or staff member of a crisis pregnancy center (or agree to complete training).
Event Responsibilities:
- Orchestrate Center’s fundraising events and/or campaigns from conception to after event follow up. To include, but not limited to: Annual Banquet, Walk-for-Life, Baby Bottle Campaign, volunteer appreciation gatherings, pastoral meeting/gatherings, Chili cook-off.
- Coordinate with Executive Director in developing and implementing the theme and tone of each fundraising campaign
- Schedule and coordinate necessary event committee meetings
- Coordinate committee members/volunteer tasking for event
- Coordinate with Executive Director on all campaign related mailings
- Coordinate with Executive Director on event venue, guest speaker(s), MC and program participants
- Ensure each event/campaign budget is compatible with overall PHC budget
- Track costs of each event/campaign and submit end report to the Executive Director
- Visit and select event venue of event with the approval of the Executive Director
- Follow up with contracts and deposits with the approval of Executive Director
- Select chefs or catering companies to prepare food for event
- Visit venue to plan layout of seating and decorations
- Coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met
- Coordinate event day logistics to include but not limited to: timeline, registration, participant tracking, presentations and materials to support each area
- Manage correspondence with event venue, invited participants, church pastors/liaisons
- Help to secure sponsorships – community businesses/individuals/churches
- Recruit and oversee volunteer committee/team members to assist in various areas of responsibilities for the campaign
- Communicates with Executive Director to coordinate and/or participates in all efforts to publicize event
Donor Relations/Outreach/Marketing Responsibilities:
- Create content and ensure proper editing for monthly e-newsletter, as well as paper newsletter mailing twice a year
- Work together with ED on End-of-Year campaign
- Create/coordinate with the Executive Director to place press releases and ads for promotion of the Center’s campaign
- Design and post all content for donor and client related social media/website pages
- Ongoing education/awareness about reaching the ABM with social media
- Communicates with Executive Director to design promotional materials
- Edit promotional materials and execute publishing tasks for bulk mailings
- Maintain and update donor/mailing list for quick reference for mailings/communications
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Create an archive of campaign: promotional materials, communications and write up post-event evaluation to submit to Executive Director.
- Keep inventory of vendors, materials (baby bottles), backdrops, projectors, computers, and other display materials used for future reference
- Coordinate with Executive Director and Financial Manager on all campaign related mailings
- Under the direction of the Development Director, manage document retention of events
- Keep current on marketing budget
Other Responsibilities:
- Communicate weekly with ED and attend a monthly meeting as well as submitting a monthly report for the ED report (if applicable)
- Fulfill other duties as may be reasonably assigned
- Attend center events and in-services as prescribed by the Executive Director and the Policy and Procedure Manual
